Billing and Refund Policy

How plans, charges and refunds work.

Last updated

This Billing and Refund Policy explains how the plan, the free trial, prepaid credits, and refunds work for Helping.io (the “Service”).

Plan and free trial

Using the API requires an active plan. A plan starts with a 14-day free trial, available once per organization. A payment card is required to start the trial. When the trial ends, the card is charged unless you cancel before then.

The plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled.

Prepaid credits

Usage is paid from prepaid credits. Credits are bought as a one-time purchase, separate from the plan fee. Credits never expire. Credits can be spent only while a plan is active. If your plan ends, your unused credits stay on your account and can be used again whenever a plan is active.

Changes and cancellation

You change your plan, cancel it, or update your card in Stripe’s customer portal. You can cancel at any time. A canceled plan stays active until the end of the current billing period.

Failed payments and disputes

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it. If the retries run out, the plan is canceled. If a credit purchase is disputed with the card issuer, the credits remaining from that purchase are taken back.

Payment processor

Payments are processed via Stripe.

Taxes

Prices do not include tax. We do not collect tax at checkout today.

Refunds

We do not offer refunds for the plan fee or for credit purchases, with two exceptions that we handle on request. First, if you are charged at the end of the free trial, we refund that first charge if you ask within 14 days of the charge and have not used the Service since the charge. Second, we refund where the law requires it. To ask for a refund, contact support@helping.io.
